On Kier Starmer Drama Day a young new recruit in the Met Police (who started his job DURING this shit show) has absolutely no idea what his oath is and was quite dumbfounded when I asked if he knew what the Peelian Principles were.
INFO BELOW THAT WAS WITH THE VIDEO
‘The Peelian principles summarise the ideas that Sir Robert Peel developed to define an ethical police force. In this model of policing, police officers are regarded as citizens in uniform. They exercise their powers to police their fellow citizens with the implicit consent of those fellow citizens.’
They need to remember (and they need to be told) that they are meant to protect and serve the people, not the state.
Our police are immoral, they lack integrity and impartiality, to which they are duty bound and they certainly are not upholding our fundamental human rights.
They will be held to account; we don’t need to use violence as they have done, for justice will be served by the people and they will not be able to say ‘I was just following orders’.
