To clarify some things...
1. I do believe God absolutely can finish the work in us He started. And this does mean a work of His spirit in us and not seeking after the flesh. However this is not how I keep or earn my salvation. Salvation is a free gift and it is not based on me trying to focus on the law or strive to attain the high standard Jesus preached to the Jews.
2. I do believe there is a high standard and the standard is perfection as Jesus preached. I don’t believe I or anyone else can meet Gods perfect standard. I am not saying the standard Jesus preached was bad. Quite contrary. Jesus is good and so is all he preached. But I also know that in my flesh dwells no good thing and I am unable to meet the standard of perfection only Jesus met. I also understand by faith in Jesus I am given freedom from the law and striving to obey the law. I am free to rest in Christ for my salvation, justification and sanctification seeking Him not seeking after the flesh.
3. Lastly I am not trying to judge Keith to hell. But his if we continue to do this or that sin we will be judged to hell is a works based salvation lie and saves no one. If we were saved by following the high standard Jesus preached then we would all be hell bound. No one is good enough. Jesus is the narrow way. No one is good enough. Only He is good, perfect and can save us.
