This song was written about 2 true experiences of women encountering angels. Verse 1 is a story of the songwriter/singer and what she experienced in her house the night before her son's funeral. Verse 2 is about another woman whose life was turned upside down and she was praying and a heavy front door of her house opened. She sensed angels coming in. She went to the door and said, "I've been expecting you." The bridge of the song is about a story in the Bible (II Kings 6) of the prophet Elisha and an army surrounded the city where he was in order to capture him. Prophet Elisha asked God to open his assistant's spiritual eyes and he saw a Heavenly army of Angels, many thousands more that were protecting them.
