"We're seeing [more] deaths among young people. I think this is the fruits of a policy that has made isolation into a virtue. We basically in public health... only care about one thing: we care about COVID control... and the consequences [were] completely predictable, Tucker. What we see in front of us is the fruits of a policy that led to one in four young adults in 2020 reporting serious consideration of suicide. So the alcoholism, the drug abuse, it was completely predictable, and I think [it] actually would have been avoidable had we taken a broader notion of what public health really means.” Jay Bhattacharya.
