What does the surface of the Bonneville Salt Flats really look like? Is it slick or sticky; How deep is the salt?; What does the subsurface look like? These are all questions that I had for many years until I actually walked across the Bonneville Salt Flats. After walking for a while and stopping and thinking about all of the activity that goes on there in only certain parts of the year, I started saying to myself that this is a very, very special place in the world that everyone needs to see. Here they have the world famous Bonneville Races every year to see who can go the fastest and still stay on the ground. It's a really fantastic place to visit any time of the year.
