They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
For the Fallen - Poem by Robert Laurence Binyon (1869-1943)
Today in the UK it is Remembrance Day, when we commemorate the
contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian
servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
Becca kindly took the photograph of a poppy tribute from when we were in
the market town of Otley, West Yorkshire, England, some years ago.
BUNNY@PRODUCTION produced a very moving video to go with this song, and
it can be viewed on his channel here:

A Soldier's Song
They left their youth behind
On country roads
And city streets
In the first blush of summer
Heard the birds sing
Their songs of joy
While they left to fight
On distant shores
On distant shores
And as the sun went down
I thought I heard a mother’s cry:
“Lord don’t let him die -
I can’t face the thought
Of life without him”
Those dreams they had
Scattered like windswept leaves
And crumpled like paper
Etched with ink unfinished
Through the hazy smoke
And boom of distant guns
They heard the battle cry
Gave their all under a teary sky
A teary sky
