I refuse to believe it is just witless incompetence and/or criminal ignorance behind the bizarre behaviour of our political and media class currently driving my country - along with much of the developed world - into a totalitarian dystopia. I suspect the people involved have an agenda other than public health, but at this stage it is hard to conclusively prove anything.
