⁣Originally published 11th february 2021: A 27 year old woman Bekki Dean has been sentenced for possession of a firearm in a Louis Vuitton handbag - her sentence was less than half that of the male accomplice Bradley Clancy she was bringing the gun to. Gun crime needs to be stamped out, but with sentences as low as this it's hard to see much deterrent. She will be out in half of her sentence laughing her way to the nearest champagne bar, as her accomplice has to do at least six years inside. Sentencing disparity? Ouch.
