"The RSA is a 258 year-old charity devoted to driving social progress and spreading world-changing ideas."]
=== DESCRIPTION ===
In this video Sir Ken Robinson, an education expert, explains that the schooling system as we know it is in dire need of reform. Modern public schools are a product of 17th century Enlightenment thinking and have no place in the 21st century.
School is designed to prepare children for factory work; a slave labor practise which was outlawed long ago. Our school systems define children by their "Date of Manufacture" instead of by their unique human abilities, and they subject kids to standardized testing in an attempt to transform kids into sellable products for factories.
The current school system is dehumanizing and terribly inefficient at utilizing human potential. It was made for a different time and we've seen the negative consequences it has on children's health play out over hundreds of years. It's time to change things. We need to rethink education urgently.
