⁣Victorian Liberal Democrats MP David Limbrick says the recent extension of Victoria’s lockdowns shows the state’s government “is totally incapable of coming up with solutions that are compatible with a free society.”
Sky News host Paul Murray discussed the recent announcement from Daniel Andrews with small business owner Paul Dimattina, Campaign Manager of Beef it up Australia Anita Donlon and Victorian Liberal Democrats MP David Limbrick.
Mr Andrews on Sunday announced tentative dates for the easing of restrictions, should new case numbers remain low.
Melbourne metropolitan area will continue with its stage four lockdowns until at least September 28.
“They just treat Victorians like they’re children,” Mr Limbrick told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“It’s totally clear how one dimensional their view on all this is.
“They’re just looking at what’s the number of transmissions and what’s the number of cases, but they’re ignoring the costs here.
“Do they feed into the models the number of small businesses that are going bankrupt, do they fee din hospitality workers, do they feed in the broken school children, do they feed in the mental health and self-harm effects?
“All the things that don’t seem to be taken account in these models.
“There are limits in what people can handle here, and they’ve just gone too far, it’s just gone on for too long.”
