Without You is based on the scripture found in John 15:5 where Jesus tells his disciples, "I am the vine and you are the branches...and apart from me you can do nothing." I wrote this at a time when I was having great success with Women Who Worship conferences with thousands of women in attendance. Every fall, I would ask God to give me a theme for the next year's conferences. I was vacationing in Maui when I wrote this song from the scripture that I felt God had placed on my heart for the following year. It was such a beautiful reminder that I could rest on this truth as I planned several conferences for the following year. I was connected to the source of everything that I needed. He was the vine and His power was flowing through me.
